Description
Echeveria agavoides Red Edge Echeveria agavoides is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae, native to rocky areas of Mexico, notably the states of San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Guanajuato and Durango. Produces stemless, star-shaped rosette of fat leaves up to 20 cm in diameter. It is often solitary or growing offsets only slowly. The leaves are green, triangular, thicker (6 mm) and more acute than the other echeverias - hence the explanation of their name agavoides, "looking like an agave".
Although they are fairly drought tolerant, they will become more spectacular with regular deep watering and light fertilizing. The hybrids and variegated versions tend to be less tolerant of frost and shade.
