Tubers are mature, bare-root plants that can be planted directly into the ground when the soil warms up a little from mid-April. Seduction is a small sized formal variety that has lavender coloring with almost painted on streaks of magenta and a dark plum center. CARE
Pot up undercover in spring, place somewhere light and frost-free and keep moist. Pinch out growing tips at 20cm and plant out after last frosts.
Alternatively, you can plant them directly in the ground when the frosts are nearly over.
Dahlias tubers can be stored in the refrigerator until planting time or get a head start on spring and start them indoors in a sunny window.
The dormant tubers are planted out in the spring, from February to end of May.
Dahlias like to be watered when it is hot, their roots kept in the shade and their heads in the sun.
Dead-head on a regular basis to promote new blooms. Stake with a stout stick, tie in every couple of weeks.
